STEM Under the Stars AT THE SHERWOOD OBSERVATORY PLANETARIUM & SCIENCE

The Three’s Club is delighted to have partnered with Sherwood Observatory Planetarium & Science Centre to deliver ‘STEM Under the Stars’, a professional learning event designed for local STEM experts and participants in the Ashfield STEM Boost Programme.

Taking place within this award-winning learning centre, the event uses astronomy as a live case study to explore how science, technology, engineering and mathematics intersect in practice. The evening brings together an overview of the Ashfield STEM Boost Programme, Moonbase: The Next Step, a live planetarium show, and engaging talks from two of Sherwood Observatory’s highly valued volunteer team, alongside facilitated professional discussion within an immersive learning environment.

Through presentations, discussion and conversations with STEM practitioners, STEM Under the Stars equips professionals to explore effective ways of communicating complex concepts clearly and accessibly across education, guidance, and engagement settings.

“Experiential learning plays a critical role in how people engage with STEM. This event is about giving professionals practical tools, shared language, and confidence they can take back into their own work. Using a space like the Observatory allows those conversations to happen in a grounded and memorable way.”

Chelsea Austin- Ajaero, Co-Founder, The Three’s Club

STEM Under the Stars is commissioned by Ashfield District Council as part of the Ashfield STEM Careers Education programme, which supports skills development, careers guidance, and local STEM progression across the district.
